Cotton Mixed to Kick Off Thursday

Cotton price action on Thursday morning is showing mixed trade. Futures closed out the Wednesday session with contracts down 30 to 61 points. The outside markets were negative factors, with the US dollar index up $1.287 and crude oil back down $0.11/barrel.

The Seam reported 4,395 bales of online sales on December 17 at an average price of 64.93 cents/lb. ICE cotton stocks were unchanged on Tuesday, at 20,113 bales of certified stocks. The Cotlook A Index was down 25 points on 12/17 at 79.25 cents/lb. The USDA Adjusted World Price (AWP) was cut by 152 points last Thursday to 56.22 cents/lb. It will be updated this Thursday.
